As a parent of two little girls, our minds are always wondering what they’ll be like when they grow up. We’re trying hard to raise compassionate, healthy, inspired girls. We’d like to think that’s the type of people we are, so it shouldn’t really be that hard, right?
The reality is we live in a constantly evolving world where social media has had an impact on how adults and kids are treating one another, sometimes not for the best. We know we can’t be there every step of the way for our children. But we can hope they’ll make good choices.
Kindness is contagious. It spreads. We firmly believe that kindness is a learned behavior and exposure can make all the difference. We’ve chosen Born This Way Foundation to receive 25% of our profits from our “Kindness is contagious” shirt because of their mission statement:
Born This Way Foundation is committed to supporting the wellness of young people and empowering them to create a kinder and braver world. To achieve these goals, Born This Way Foundation leverages rigorous academic research and authentic partnerships in order to provide young people with kinder communities, improved mental health resources, and more positive environments – online and offline.
Our goal is to make kindness the forefront of learned behaviors. It doesn’t take much to be a kinder human being. If it’s not a natural behavior, we hope it will spread like crazy with the reminder on this little shirt.
